Follow Loretta
03:22
|
|||
So I awake and I've missed half the day from my slumbering.
And it would seem I had too much to dream for one evening.
Cos it feels so long since I saw Loretta.
I gave you a call, I wrote you a letter. Loretta!
Come round today you're invited to stay for the weekend.
Oh and by the way I have so much to say if you're wondering.
Or I'll give you a call or write you a letter.
And I'm hearing her call, I'll follow Loretta. I'd better.
And I'm hearing the call, a sinfonietta.
And I'm hearing her call. I'll follow Loretta. Loretta!

Dig Me Up
02:17
|
|||
Outside looking in a window, it doesn't matter what I really saw.
Somewhere lurking in the shadows with chairs and tables leant against a door was someone who was locked inside.
Wait for them and they will follow, in their own time, crawling on the floor.
Listen to the slow one holler while the others all attempt to talk, I find there is no place to hide.
Outside looking in a window, it doesn't matter what I really saw.
Somewhere lurking in the shadows with chairs and tables leant against a door is someone who is locked inside.

Burning Pages
03:12
|
|||
There's stories of old you've never been told till now.
We'll sit by the tree where blossom conceals the ground.
We'll be here a while so sit back and I'll preside.
Though each page I turn my fingers get burned I try.
Picture the words and you're not coming back.
Tie yourself down to the railroad track.
Don't get too deep or your head starts to crack.
Sometimes the words will flow like a bird in flight.
You think they're conceived to help you to see the light.
The garden it seems was once in your dreams but now the things that you read are planting the seeds of doubt.
Picture the words and you're not coming back.
Tie yourself down to the railroad track.
Don't get too deep or your head starts to crack.

Esmeranda
03:25
|
|||
Well her name is Esmeranda and if she talks to you you'll freeze with fear. Fear.
She always gets the eye in public but they look away as she gets near, near, near.
She's always fighting with her Daddy, she was promised to his bosses son.
But she vowed to never marry. She never thought that life would be much fun, fun, fun.
Now she's cut her hair for summer, her Dads appalled at what she's done.
No one knows it's Esmeranda, just another girl out in the Sun, Sun, Sun.

Here Come the Winds
03:06
|
|||
Just before you leave My door please take this garment old and worn, across the fields it keeps you warm. Cellular shield from the storm.
Aaaah.
Weaved and woven long ago, in mind the bitter winds that blow.
Washed up where the river flows.
Who's hand had stitched you'll never know.
Aaaah.
Cellular coat.
Cellular coat.
Cellular coat.
Cellular coat.
Cellular coat.
Cellular coat.

Like a Merry Go Round
03:53
|
|||
Join the line and follow everyone.
A silhouette before a silver sun.
Meandering trails are drawn across the sand from the foothills up to where we stand.
There they go like a merry go round with no end in sight.
Chase the shadows as they break on the ground in the fading light.
All the times that I have seen this done I can't recall it being this much fun.
Seasons been for Me it's just begun.
Waited for an age for it to come.
There they go like a merry go round with no end in sight.
Chase the shadows as they break on the ground in the fading light.

The Fisherman
02:08
|
|||
We woke early in the morning when we met the fisherman.
5 am he's calling us to get out on the sea.
What will be will be.
He'd spoken to us openly with passion and delight.
A Hundred or more stories with dead fish at his feet.
Makes him feel free.
Ahhhh.
We stood out in the wet sand and no shoes were on our feet.
That's My Wife and Son he said and left us on the beach

Summer Queen
02:58
|
|||
Run home all the way you'll be on time.
(Run home all the way you'll be on time.)
And no doubt today you'll look divine.
(And no doubt you'll look divine)
Her friends had promised her she'll be the Summer Queen.
She feels it's been deserved.
It's been her life long dream.
At the prom the King is her dream guy.
(At the prom the King is her dream guy)
But she's not the Queen and then she cries.
(When her friends named Queen she cries)
Her friends had promised her she'd be the Summer Queen.
No more than she deserved.
It's been her life long dream.
Her friends had promised her she'd be the Summer Queen.
No more than she deserved.
It's been her life long dream.

When the Bird Has Flown
02:31
|
|||
Aaaah.
When the bird has flown we'll stand on our own.
She will fly alone into the unknown.
She dreams there legends of her mind flying back through time.

The Old Man Mini Suite
04:40
|
|||
Old man waiting in the Sun for the number 50 bus.
This morning gave a casual wave. Old man did you see us?
He used to tell us all about the times when his life was full of dreams.
Now he's older and he lives alone the World aint what it seems.
Lost the missus just a year ago now he soldiers alone.
On the mantelpiece he keeps the urn, her pictures by the phone.
Every morning he's awake at five for his marmalade and tea.
Sings along to the radio, Glenn Millers Reverie.
We knock the door and hear no sound I'm sure he knows we're coming around.
We know you're up, you might be down but that's the reason we come around.
We'll make you laugh, we'll watch John Wayne films round your gaff.
Just show your face, look out your window. Not a trace.
Remember life goes on even though he's gone.
Goodbye and so long.
Remember life goes on.

Say Goodbye
02:59
|
|||
She said goodbye, She said goodbye.
The note she left behind said goodbye.
Every time we say goodbye feels like the last time and now it's time.
Say goodbye, oh say goodbye.
Could be the last time so say goodbye.
